In our last post, we discussed a client who is heading back to school after a workplace accident. The prosthetics featured in this post belong a long time client who, about ten years ago, also needed to pursue a new career after loosing his fingers at work. He was interested in becoming a hair stylist but, missing three fingers on his right hand made it very difficult to hold scissors and he was concerned about what clients would think when they saw his hand. After working with him on fit, flexion and making sure his prosthetics slid easily into the scissor handles, this client was able to become a hairstylist using his prosthetic fingers. “Customers don’t notice that I wear prosthetic fingers. I couldn’t do this work without these. You know, you guys are my heroes. You saved my life.”
