Aesthetic Prosthetics was launched in 1999 with the vision of answering the need for aesthetic realism in the prosthetic industry. Using state of the art materials, we provide highly realistic looking prostheses to individuals who would like their anatomical loss to be concealed. Our mission is to set a benchmark standard of quality and excellence in prosthetics through superb artistry, carefully chosen materials, and innovative methods of design for practical function.

Stefan Knauss, President of Aesthetic Prosthetics, specializes in functional aesthetic prostheses for the face and limbs. Prosthetics is essentially the practice of creating pieces that restore function and normalcy to individuals having a loss or disfigurement of their anatomy. Choosing one's prosthetist carefully is important because quality of life depends on the practitioner's skill, artistry, and clinical understanding.

Stefan has practiced in the field of prosthetics since 1989. He earned a Masters of Associated Medical Sciences degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago where he studied at the Craniofacial Center in the Department of Maxillofacial Prosthetics as well as trained in medical illustration. He studied prosthetics and orthotics (bracing) at Northwestern University 's School of Prosthetics and Orthotics in Chicago.
